an elegant affair at NORTHBROOK PARK; louie & shep

Louie & Shep, aka Chris & Alex, aka Mr & Mrs Lewis {!} booked me a whole year before their wedding day was due to happen. I looked forward to it for the entirety of that time. Chris is in the Army so I knew there would be a kind of modern officer & a gentleman feel to it and Alex is a designer so I knew every little last thing would have been organised to the highest standard with a beauty perhaps even recognised on the unconscious. It just felt right. Northbrook Park was the perfect setting for these two worlds to collide.

Here is their story:

Featuring: Northbrook Park, Surrey

where the wild things are; lou & rik get MARRIED

Lou has this gracious, elegant Audrey Hepburn softness to her beauty and Rik is a true gentleman. These two combined should result in a sort of eloquent love affair. Instead they make absolute fireworks. They are so effortlessly comfortable with each other and it is an absolute joy to document.

This is their story.

Featuring: St Marys Church, Wimbledon & Ham Polo Club, Richmond.

a bonnie balmoral wedding…

In March, one of my closest friends married his best friend. His confidant. His soul mate. This is their story.

a crear wedding, west coast of scotland, rebecca & santi

“there’s a discourse here

this unknown plant argues

for me to eat its fruit
purple with black

seeds its own reason

four years growth in

a mouthful my life
grown to this point plant

& myself & you
move to a beginning”

Rebecca & Santi’s Crear wedding was so far on the coast to the West of Scotland that you would literally fall off the country if you were to step out into the sea. I liked that. It added an element of fairytale to it.

And Oh! My! what a fairytale it was. Rebecca’s Maid of Honour was a Spanish Mastiff Dog named Luna, her wedding party also including a staffie and a collie. When that’s the situation you know you’re in for quite a wedding.

a florida destination wedding – paula & grant wed in miami

In December I embarked on what was possibly the scariest moment of my career so far; boarding a 9 hour flight to the other side of the world. Forget the fact that I was there to shoot a wedding, it was getting on the plane that frightened the living daylights out of me.

I’ve always been OK with flying. To Scotland and back. Several thousand miles is a long way. And yet I was so excited to be shooting the wedding of Paula & Grant with my beau, Marshal Gray, that I overcame it and settled right in with the free champagne coffee.

I can’t put into words how much I enjoyed this trip. To try to articulate it would be…almost to the detriment of it.

Instead, I will show you. Here is the story of Paula & Grant and their wedding on an almost-white sandy beach in Miami, Florida. Please note you can also view Gary’s {aka Marshal Gray} version of the events on his blog here.
